Julie Stretz MSN, CNM
Julie is the latest addition to the Midwife team at Westside. After working for several years in women’s health nursing, she graduated with her Master’s degree as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner from the University of Colorado in 2012, then continued on to complete her Post- Master’s certification as a nurse midwife. She is thrilled to join Westside in her new role having had a long history with the providers at WWC! Some of you might recognize her as a former Labor and Delivery nurse at Lutheran and Childbirth Preparation Instructor at both Lutheran and Westside.
Julie loves the strength and individuality of women and believes in empowering women and their families take an active role in their care. She strives to help them achieve their ideal birth experience while maintaining the safety of both mom and baby, recognizing that the birth of each child is an unforgettable, once in a lifetime experience, yet only the beginning of the journey into parenthood. She is passionate about education and continues to teach fetal monitoring and guest lectures at a regional labor and delivery nursing course.
In her spare time, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband
and two children (delivered by the providers at WWC). She enjoys
reading, cooking, hiking, fishing, and most of all, being a
karate and football mom!
