Testimonials
" Dear Norine and Westside Staff,
I would like to thank you very much for helping me achieve the birth I had hoped for. Although my husband and I had originally considered a home birth, we also felt that we would be most comfortable knowing the best in medical care was available should (god forbid) we need it. I did not find Westside Women's Care until I was 30 weeks pregnant. I had been unhappy with my previous care, and decided it was worth the drive from Boulder to be sure I was working with practitioners I trusted and enjoyed. In the final 8 weeks of my pregnancy I had a chance to meet each of the midwives. I felt very confident with each of them. That confidence was key to my positive birth experience.
When friends and family ask about my birth I often describe the intimate feelings I had with my husband and with my baby. In addition to working with Westside midwives we opted to hire a doula. Both our doula and our midwife provided physical support, suggestions, and advocacy throughout the entire labor. This allowed my husband and I to fully focus on each other and the birth of our first child. I was able to move about the room, try new positions and even bathe 2-3 times. All of this was key to my pain management. When it was close to time for our son to arrive, my family came in and witnessed his arrival. My husband caught the baby and cut the cord. I had the home birth that I wanted in the hospital. I was very glad we did end up choosing the hospital route. Despite the wonderful experience of the labor, there was a potentially dangerous complication: our son was born with the cord wrapped around his neck and had turned quite blue. Norine's professionalism and experience helped us navigate this complication. My son was born healthy and I had 6 superficial stitches. I was up and moving in less than an hour after our boy was born. Now, my boy is almost 3 months old and is the love of my life. My husband and I cannot thank you enough for helping us get our family off to a great start. We look forward to seeing you in a year or two, when we get pregnant with our second baby.
Thank you again!
Sincerely,
Allyson"
